RCMP Investigating Invermere Construction Accident

Columbia Valley RCMP is investigating after a highway construction worker was injured in Invermere.

Responding to the incident around 8:30 am on Thursday, September 12th, RCMP said the construction worker was clearing a culver on Toby Creek Road with a fire hose.

Columbia Valley RCMP said the hose got entangled on a passing pickup truck driving through the area, knocking the worker to the ground and dragging him 5 to 10 feet.

“The worker was transported to the hospital to be assessed for minor injuries,” said RCMP. “The truck was described as a dark coloured full-size pickup.”

RCMP are now looking to speak with the driver of the truck to determine if they realized they had entangled their vehicle with the fire hose, which injured the construction worker.

Anyone with additional details about the incident is asked to contact Columbia Valley RCMP at (250) 342-9292.
