Rockies Stumble in First KIJHL Exhibition Game

The Columbia Valley Rockies got their first taste of preseason action in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League on Wednesday.

In Golden to take on the Rockets, the Rockies would fall 5-3, allowing three goals in the third period to drop their first exhibition contest of the new season.

The Rockies are back in action this weekend as they get set for a home-and-home series against the Revelstoke Grizzlies, the defending KIJHL Champions. Columbia Valley will host Revelstoke on Friday at Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena at 7:00 pm before Saturday’s matchup at the Revelstoke Forum.

Meanwhile, the Kimberley Dynamiters will open their preseason schedule at home on Friday against Golden.

The Fernie Ghostriders are also in action on Friday, travelling to Grand Forks’ Jack Goddard Memorial Arena to take on the Princeton Posse.
