Dynamiters, Rockies Enter Main Camp as KIJHL Preseason Continues

It was a busy long weekend in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League as several teams met in preseason action, while both the Kimberley Dynamiters and Columbia Valley Rockies started Main Camp.

The Fernie Ghostriders and Creston Valley Thunder Cats split their home-and-home series as the Ghostriders won 5-3 in Fernie on Friday while the Thunder Cats earned a 4-3 win in Creston on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Golden Rockets travelled to Revelstoke to take on the defending KIJHL Champions, as they lost 6-3 to the Grizzlies.

The Thunder Cats would then host the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on Sunday, losing 9-4 to close out the weekend, as Creston is now set to travel to Fruitvale tonight for a rematch with the Nitehawks.

The Columbia Valley Rockies play their first preseason game on Wednesday against the Golden Rockets, while the Kimberley Dynamiters lace up the skates for their first taste of preseason action on Friday, as they host the Rockets.
