RCMP said the fine for passing a school bus while its lights and stop sign are activated is $368. “The fines for speeding in a school zone range from $196 to $483.” Locally in Cranbrook, be alert for Safety Suzy as well as the decoy will be placed in the crosswalk, alerting motorists at pedestrian crossings to students potentially crossing the street to and from school.
