Cranbrook Home Depot has once again stepped up and donated significant funding to Operation Street Angel as part of their Orange Door campaign.
Over the past five years, Cranbrook Home Depot has partnered with the Ktunaxa Nation on the campaign to donate $140,000 to the local non-profit. Operation Street Angel provides services to Cranbrook’s homeless and vulnerable populations including meals, mental health services, as well as advocacy, employment and justice services.
“The pandemic has had a major effect on people from all walks of life, particularly those who look to Street Angel for community, services and support,” Racheal Nicholas, Social Sector Urban Services Manager with the Ktunaxa Nation Council. “I am very pleased but not surprised that even during this difficult time, the people of Cranbrook still were willing to open their hearts to donate to the Orange Door Project.”
Operation Street Angel has been receiving the proceeds of the Orange Door campaign, a charity donation offered by Cranbrook Home Depot since 2016. The non-profit first began offering services to Cranbrook in 2010 and is located at 46 17 Avenue South in Cranbrook near the Skate Park and behind Western Financial Place.
“On behalf of our staff and clients, I would like to thank Cranbrook Home Depot’s manager Tim Strauss and all his hardworking staff for their dedication to the Orange Door Project over these past years,” said Nicholas. “The funds raised have a direct, positive impact on the lives of those who access services at Street Angel.”
