RCMP Seeking Pedestrian in “Suspicious” Cranbrook Incident

Cranbrook RCMP are investigating what they describe as a “suspicious incident” that occurred in the middle of 2nd Street North on Wednesday around 1:00 pm.

“A witness had come upon a vehicle, described only as a cherry red car, obstructing traffic while speaking to a young pedestrian in the middle of 2nd Street North near 24th Avenue,” said Cranbrook RCMP.

Noticing that something was wrong, RCMP said the witness spoke to the teenage girl after the car had departed.

“The witness learned the male driver was encouraging the girl to get into his car so he could take her shopping.”
