Cranbrook encourages visitors to stay in nearby campgrounds as Mount Baker RV Campground closed

Following the operator’s decision not to renew their contract to operate the Mount Baker RV Campground for 2021, Cranbrook City Council made the decision to close the park for the year.

The City of Cranbrook said it recognized that the closure will impact regular visitors, but it encourages visitors to take a look at the many alternatives the area has to offer.

“Our regular guests to the Mount Baker RV Campground are encouraged to consider any number of provincial parks or private campgrounds including great spaces like: the Regency Resort RV Park, the Rocky Pine RV Park, St. Eugene KOA, Jimsmith Lake Provincial Park, Fort Steele Campground, Fort Steele Resort & RV Park, Moyie Lake, Norbury Lake Provincial Park, Wasa Lake and Premier Lake Provincial Park,” said the City of Cranbrook.

The City said it is in the early stages of planning a public engagement exercise to identify the possibilities there may be for the Mount Baker RV Campground.
