Kimberley RCMP Investigating Local Homicide

The Kimberley RCMP are in the early stages of a homicide investigation after finding an unresponsive woman Sunday evening.

RCMP were called to an undisclosed location along Highway 95A just east of Kimberley , where officers located an unresponsive woman.

Initiated lifesaving protocols, the BC Ambulance Service also arrived on scene.

“After extensive intervention by BC Ambulance and police she was declared deceased,” said Kimberley RCMP.

A 39-year-old man has since been taken into custody by RCMP.

“Southeast District Major Crime Unit will be handling the investigation,” added Kimberley RCMP. “Assistance is being provided by Cranbrook General Duty and General Investigation Section.”

As well, the Forensic Identification Section, Police Dog Services and the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Unit also assisted.

RCMP said the investigation is in the preliminary stages and that police have limited information available to release to the public at this time as they continue their investigation.
