UPDATE: Highway 3 Open East of Cranbrook After “Serious” Collision

UPDATE (August 27, 2019): Body Found on Highway 3/93 Closed Highway 3

BC RCMP Traffic Services confirmed that a body was found on the side of the highway Monday, which forced the closure of Highway 3 east of Cranbrook.

Original Story (August 26, 2019):

Highway 3 has been reopened east of Cranbrook after RCMP and Emergency Services responded to a “serious” motor vehicle collision.

RCMP East Kootenay Traffic Services confirmed to MyEastKootenayNow.com that emergency responders were on scene and were attending to a “serious motor vehicle incident”.

East Kootenay Traffic Services couldn’t confirm if there were any injuries or further details about the collision or the parties involved.

Drive BC reported the collision between the Rampart Rest Area and Pritchard Road.

Highway 3 was opened around 2:00 pm MST.

Further details about the collision have yet to be made apparent.
