Campaign Funding Data Released for Cranbrook Byelection

Elections BC has released the campaign contribution numbers from the 2019 Cranbrook Byelection for City Council.

John Hudak won the Cranbrook Byelection on May 11, 2019, collecting 1,115 of the 2,425 total votes cast for the vacant seat on Cranbrook City Council.

Hudak also had the largest amount of campaign contributions, gathering $3,297.24 from the community, although $1,047.24 was self-funded.

Ron Miles finished second in the Cranbrook Byelection with 518 votes, with his campaign contributions totalling $2,350.

Jordan Fiorentino had $2,180 of financial support, Randy Tapp self-campaigned with $1,366.26 while William McKerrow’s campaign totalled $1,245.86.

Under the Local Election’s Campaign Financing Act, the public is allowed to search and download campaign contribution date and view scanned images of disclosure statements through Elections BC’s Financial Reports and Political Contributions System.
